North Alabama Fall Tour

Our October club meeting will be a joint meet with the Model” A” Touring Club of

North Alabama. Check in and registration will be Thursday October 26, 2023, at the

Econo Lodge, 1412 Glen Blvd, Ft. Payne, Al 35968. Due to an increase in room rates

at the Hampton, the Econo Lodge was selected as the Host Motel. The daily rate is

$70.00, $10.00 per night for pets. A block of 20 rooms has been reserved for the tour.

Call the hotel direct (256) 845-4013 for your reservations, tell them you are with the

touring club to get the special rate, cutoff date is October 16th. 

Thursday evening, an area has been reserved at the Cattle Stampede for those who

want to join the tour group. On Friday October 27 we will be off on scenic back roads

to Lookout Mountain, and on to Chattanooga Tn. for a tour of the Coker Antique

Vehicle Museum. After the museum tour we will have lunch with a choice of 2 very

good places within 2 blocks of the Coker Museum, The Star Southern Cooking & the

Urban Stack.

After lunch we will make our way back to Ft. Payne, stopping at a couple of antique

shops along the way; total mileage for the day will be 115 miles. Friday evening you

will be on your own choosing from one of the many eating places in the area. On

Saturday we will once again be touring the back roads back up Lookout Mountain to

Little River Canyon. We will continue down Lookout Mountain into Leesburg for

lunch at the scenic Decks & Docks, weather permitting we will be able to eat on the

large outdoor patio overlooking Weiss Lake.

Afterwards, we will tour back to the Hotel arriving between 3 or 4 p.m. giving time

to freshen up for the Farewell Dinner, total mileage for the day will be just approx.

100 Miles.

On Saturday evening the Farewell Banquet will again be held at the historic Coal &

Iron Building in downtown Ft. Payne. Complete information will be outlined in the

Touring Packet. PLEASE look over the route sheets, as with any touring event a lot

of time goes into insuring you will get to your destination and back safely. Feel Free
